“GREAT NATURAL EXPERIENCE ONLY A FEW MINUTES OUTSIDE OF AMSTERDAM. UNDERSTANDING THE BALANCE OF THE COUNTRYSIDE, SOME ABOUT THE DUTCH CULTURE AND ALSO THE CUTEST VILLAGE OF WATERGANG WERE THE HIGHLIGHTS. MAJEL WAS VERY NICE AND COMES FROM THE WETLANDS OF AMSTERDAM HERSELF SO KNOWS ALL ABOUT IT. A REAL NICE, UNUSUAL, CLOSE TO NATURE, DUTCH EXPERIENCE !”
We had such a good time! Our guide was informative and friendly. We learned about the area, the wildlife, birds, history and terrain. The canoeing was fun, the water smooth making it easy to paddle, the setting was interesting and beautiful. Our guide prepared a picnic lunch which was a perfect time for getting to know the other guests. It was a celebratory day for us and for the other couple making it a fabulous experience for one and all.
Life jackets were provided. Bus transportation to and from the site was included.
Try it, you’ll like it even if you don’t know how to canoe (which we did). Our extra bonus was picture perfect weather.
Loved, loved, loved this tour!! Our guide was fantastic and a bit of a celebrity- she hosted Rick Steves on his televised visit…Canals were so beautiful and we loved going under the small bridges. It was so much more scenic than the larger canals in Amsterdam proper. Picnic lunch was yummy…Can’t say enough about the value and excellence of this tour!!
In simple words ‘out of this world’. I took this trip with my aunt on 15th April 2016 as last leg of our 7 days stay in Amsterdam and I must say this was the best one. We both thoroughly enjoyed the 5 hour long scenic, beautiful, full of nature canoe through the narrow bridges. The best part is the an awesome, ever smiling guide who made us feel more comfortable and enjoy it to the fullest. A ‘MUST’ for those who admire nature and some physical activities. Its not at all tiring nor required any previous experience. I am back with so many unforgettable memories of nature: Thank you for having such an amazing itinerary.
We still talk about our wonderful canoe ride. It was a highlight of our trip. This summer we’ll be going to Barcelona, but I now have a desire to see more of the Netherlands after visiting your fantastic country.
Our canoe trip with you was one of the highlights of our European sabbatical this summer. If we hear of anyone going to Amsterdam
We loved our day with you and enjoy all the pictures we took. Especially the dancing cows, white swans, and delicious lunch.
We are back home in England now and enjoying a nice sunny day. We must thank you very much for a wonderful day with you on your Wetland Safari. Paddling through the waterways was really enjoyable and so was the magnificent lunch. Very many thanks.

We have just returned to California after a month in Europe. One of the highlights of our trip was the Wetlands Safari. It was so much fun. Our granddaughter, Jessica, is still talking about it. I want to thank you for providing us with this wonderful experience. It was really fun and easy…even at our age and inexperience. Your picnic was memorable too. Thanks again for a delightful outing.
Just want to say thank you again for a great day last Sunday! Let me know if the canals freeze over and you decide to do ice-skating trips!
This was a fun, different way to spend most of a day and have a chance to escape the busy Amsterdam city center while getting a bit of exercise too. The guide, Majel, who is also the owner of the tour company will wait outside the Amsterdam Central train station in the morning. You will take a local bus and travel a short distance into the country right outside Amsterdam. It will give you a quick view of life outside the city. It is amazing how fast the city stops and the fields begin. The town is criss-crossed with waterways. Canoeing through the village and through a local nature preserve, you will get an explanation as to how the land has been actually created by the Dutch out of lakes and ponds. No prior canoeing experience would be necessary. If you are interested, the company has a website.
Dank hiervoor!
Setsuko from Japan
Dear Majel, I had a very good time on your wetlandssafari tour on 3th August with people from Hawaii. It was a lot of fun. Thank you very much for your nice guided tour. I continued my travel in Belgium and enjoyed it. Yesterday I came back to Japan. It is hot and humid this summer in Japan. I wish you a good summer and I hope I’ll visit Amsterdam again.

Majel Tromp was thrilled when he printed a blurb about her canoe tours near Amsterdam. He’s expanding the blurb into a full recommendation in his next book, …
Cirque du Soleil
Just a quick message to say thank-you for organising a wonderful day for Cirque du Soleil. The tandems, canoes and especially the lovely lunch outside with super lovely food and fruit salad. Everyone enjoyed themselves, and we will remember it as a great day for sure. I will definitely recommend this to other companies too, should anyone need an idea.
